Mireille Loup is a photographer, filmmaker and writer.

Born in 1969 in Switzerland.
Lives and works in Arles, France.

Graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie (Arles, France) in 1994. Her work has been present in galleries in France and abroad since 1991, and her books started being published in 1999. Visual and sound systems and installations, Internet fictions, iPad applications, Mireille Loup’s art deals with discursive and aesthetic forms that establish cross-disciplinary communication. Her works are exhibited in art centres and museums such as the Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Universidade de São Paulo (Brazil), Musée Malraux (France), Musée d’Art Moderne et d’Art Contemporain de la Ville de Liège (Belgium) and the Centre National des Arts du Canada in Ottawa. She is present in many public and private collections, including the Fonds National d’Art Contemporain and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Mireille Loup teaches history of photography in Master 2 at the University of Montpellier III and the Aesthetics at the University of Arles Provence, into the Digital Imaging Department. Also, she operates in specific courses in Continuing Education of National High School of Photography in Arles, and teaches courses in different Fine Arts Schools. Attached to children's issues, she regularly conducts art workshops with children and teenagers, including classes of school integration (CLIS) and child psychiatry.
